Architecture of Circumstance

This project proposes a process for designing with reused building materials, where the search, documentation, and evaluation of existing components become as critical as the design itself. By designing through discovery, the project allows material constraints to guide structure, space, and form with minimal manipulation. Working within the Denver Single Stair Housing Challenge, the building emerges from the tension between generic construction systems and the particular conditions of found materials, producing irregular grids and variable spatial relationships. The focus is not on a fixed outcome, but on developing an adaptable, non-linear methodology that can extend to future projects, positioning every building as a material bank.
