V.A. Voucher Co-Op
Los Angeles is home to a significant population of unhoused veterans. While the H.U.D.-V.A.S.H. voucher program provides access to subsidized housing, the process is fragmented and difficult to navigate, requiring veterans to coordinate with four separate government agencies located across the city. This project proposes a centralized hub that brings these organizations together under one roof, simplifying the path to housing. In addition to streamlining access to permanent housing, the project integrates support services focused on employment, stability, and long-term reintegration.
The organizational strategy of the building is informed by an analysis of the voucher process and the spatial logic of the New York Public Library’s Rose Reading Room. A photographic study of the V.A. Campus further guided the project’s aesthetic and material approach.
